A True Friend of KC Jazz & Blues

An eyewitness to decades of important KC jazz and blues happenings, bartender John Albertson (photographed recently at his familiar Grand Emporium post) was the star of the February/March 2001 JAM when he looked back on his many years behind the bar at old Milton's on Main. On Tuesday, June 11, beginning at 7:00 p.m., there will be a benefit at the Grand Emporium for Albertson who has encountered some unexpected medical expenses. The talent lineup is TBA as we go to press, the donation at the door will be $10. Call 816-531-7557 for up-to-date details. (photo by Evie Quarles)
